Task 4

Welcome to week 4 builders. For this weeks task we ask you to delve into your inner cinephilia. Take inspiration from a film that resonates with you to recreate a scene from your chosen film. Please note you're embodying a vision. Portray this vision accurately. To judge this weeks task, we will be doing research on your chosen film. Good luck!

Room Size:  10 x 10

DOUBLE ELIMINATION

Ponyo

This is gorgeous, vibrant and very fitting. The details are astonishing and the inspiration you took from the film you chose was very accurate. I'm very pleased with the result. I would have never thought to use the wafer furniture in a way that portrayed a brick. Ingenious. The lush plants you sporadically included around the build tied perfectly with the aesthetics and the theme you were trying to get across. I can see ghibli written all over this. Very nicely done.

This room is so adorable it perfectly represent the scene you were going for. Great use of bright happy colours especially on the walls and roof. I loved this scene from the movie and I love it even more represented here. The roof details are my favourite part of this room.

True-Courage

Babycakes

Romeo + Juliet

The tone and set is very appropriate. I'm obsessed with the amount of candles you used around the alter especially. The room is balanced well with the amount of items you accessorized with and the difference in textures. A very hard scene to portray in terms of what furniture you could use. I feel you did an admirable job and the result is very powerful. Thanks.

I like how artificial and set-like this room looks. It is perfectly representing one scene inside the frame of the camera. Not sure I care about that bland textureless wall but everything else is well made. The various candles you found and used here give this room character and ambiance.

Tarkovsky

Trainspotting

I adore this film and I find you did an incredible job portraying its vision through this build. The details are very accurate and concocted in such a way that it makes the room look very grimy; the way it's meant to be. I do find the room size to be a tiny bit lazy. Considering the range we allotted it just dipped in comparison to some of the larger scale builds. However you made up for it in the smaller details. Well done.

The balls it took to send in a 2x2 room. Good thing I’m the host and I have a weak spot for tiny rooms. That aside, this room perfectly captures the idea behind this task. You are representing an iconic scene in such a simple yet bold room. Amazing work on the details especially the use of rot, the bullet holes and the rain as a dirty colour overlay.

Lluvli

Of Mice and Men

Though I totally see your scene being portrayed through this build; it's not creative enough in my opinion. Had you incorporated more of a unique twist; inventive wall feature. Something that gave us 'wow' factor instead of simply recreating a barn. It would have played off a lot better. That being said the room is thought out in relation to your chosen film and I instantly recognize what you were going for.

Well this room does meet the task criteria. It is a good recreation of the scene. We also have to keep in mind that this is a habbo room competition and the quality of this room is just way too low. It is just one simple farm with no inventiveness whatsoever.

Doglover53

Howl's Moving Castle

I wish you didn't use such a harsh mood-light; it detracts from the details you added. I understand the original scene had a tint to it but it would have come across better if it weren't as powerful. That being said the small details are quite spectacular. You really did your research on your chosen film and brought it to life. There are so many things to look at, yet you still are able to understand the underlying theme and see the focal point of the room. Very inventive and inspiring stacking.

The details here are mesmerizing. Just looking at all the work you put in gives me stress. This is a perfect example of being inspired by a vision. But then you added this weird lime green tint to it a bit thick and it sorta breaks the magic. I think either dimming the light a bit or not using it at all would have improved the room quite a bit.

CheekyFluffa

Tangled

Though it lacks in originality it certainly creates a whole scene and portrayed your film well. The use of different stones and textures to create the tower was smart; though it could have been stacked a bit cleaner its still powerful. I wish you elongated your build to make it slimmer and taller. The details that stand out for me the most are the lanterns and the chameleon you made sure to incorporate. How could you forget them? Overall not the cleanest build but it still shows your thought process and creativity. Thanks.

This is not the most original idea. I’ve seen this particular tower from the same movie done before. That aside, the room is nicely done. The detailing is nice especially with the roof. The stacking could have been done much cleaner though, especially on the vines and foliage.

Moonwalk

I guess she moonwalked out of this competition.

Another one bites the moon dust. RIP!
