Week 5
Welcome Builders
Welcome to Week 5 of Builders Corp. 4.

Wuxing AKA (Tarkovsky) showed us in Builders Corp. 1 a unique approach to creating exterior spaces.

This week we ask you to build with a similar approach and create an exterior urban street/alley design.

Please note, you do not have to use a similar aesthetic in regards to the furniture items he used to create his space. Be inventive, be unique. Show us your version of urban.
Good luck builders!

Congratulations
Deactivate!

Congratulations Builders! You have successfully completed your fifth task. This has been an exceptional week. Each and every one of you showed us something different in your submissions. With such a tight concept, your imagination ran wild. Creating some truly stunning designs in the process. As we hone in on the finer details, it becomes more and more apparent how much time and consideration you put into your designs. Keep up the great work. Please see the progress page for your individual ranking. Thanks!

Deactivate!

A dreary landscape battling the tests of time. The detailing is wicked. The combination of brick textures and wood really elevate the construct. Working different shapes into the buildings offset their similarities and pulled them together as a cohesive design. The motorcycle you made is ridiculously good and worked well with the theme of your build. The layering of the room is intriguing; the sewers are effective in capturing the aesthetic of the build. There is so much to praise in this design. You turned this competition around. Well done.
Wig officially snatched. This is your best room of the season hands down. There's colour, there's texture, there's layering and there's volume! The amount of detail woven into this is quite spectacular, We can immediately see hints of your specialty in stacking objects and creations, now your room making has officially caught up with it so they’re showcased together on equal footing. I applaud you for this room and I can’t wait to see you keeping this up. It’s about time you win a task.

I'm very much in love with the cool tones you used to create this design. Your use of shading is impeccable. Adding shadows to areas that would appropriately be darker is genius. You have that down-pat. The shape of the design is beautiful, once again. The industrial stacking and layering worked into every aspect of this build is so fitting. The combination of bars and wire climbing up the side of the build were a great choice. Overall, this is very, very strong. Keep it up!
Ok, we get it, ridiculously controlled colour palettes and organic and visually stunning shapes are your MO. Stop bragging about it already. This is just gorgeous to look at. The details are spectacular and the amount of work and thought that went into this are very apparent. I really can’t hate anything in this room. Keep up keeping the keep up and stuff.

C0RPSES

Vibrant and adorable. The pastel palette and smooth textures really highlight your theme. This is such a fun submission. There are so many combinations of items stacked together to create all these unique effects. The structures are purposeful and standing next to each other at different heights, emphasize the attention to detail you worked into the build. The overall concept is prevalent and suitable for this task. A very clean and precise construct that focuses on a lot of your talent in stacking. Good work.
While using an unexpected happy go theme, you managed to create this detail ridden creation. Again the details are gorgeous and the manipulation of colours and textures make this very unique. I keep saying this on every critique but you yet again show us a different side of your building talent. You are this season's jack of all trades in my opinion.
Queenension

An emotional display of your talents. The disposition of this theme is enchanting. The play on light with the use of falling snow was delightful. My favourite part of the design. In regards to the architecture you played with, though it was stacked well, it leaves a lot to be desired. I wish you had elaborated on the buildings a little more, played with height and tied it back to the snow. Placing snow on the roof would have elevated the design. Overall this is you, your personal style and abilities show in this display. I really appreciate that. Unfortunately we require every aspect to be honed in on and fine tuned at this stage of the competition.
A commendable room with quite the unique take on the task. I love a good visual story and this room shows lots of it. That being said, we are at a point in this competition where even the smallest of details matter. This room is amazing but it is also not up to the same standards as your peers this week. It is quite unfortunate, it’s been a huge honour to see your creations this season.

You provided us with the most to look at this week, with this submission. So many layers of intricate detailing and story telling. The bricks crawling down the concrete wall, leading to the sewer is awe inspiring. The underground terminal cutting through the entire room, very astonishing. The overall combination of textures and the elevated urban theme fit well with the task prompt. Your stacking abilities are a true testament to how focused you are on this competition. Showing us how far you're able to stretch your creative process, is exactly what we want to see. Keep stretching, we love to see it. Great work.
While the buildings aren't the most special, they’re nothing compared to the genius shown in terms of layering and composition. This room is absolutely impressive. The different layerings of spaces is a pure act of genius, it’s visually compelling and the amount of information you get from this room is quite hectic. This really is top notch room designing and I’m in awe with your creation this week.

There is a tremendous amount of work displayed in this room design. The layering is impeccable. The dark brick combination you worked with are stunning. I really am amazed by how much thought you worked into this. The roofing you created are probably my favourite part of this design. They are simple but capture the essence of the design. The fun, neo-noir aspect is spread throughout the build, highlighting so many story-telling choices. This is a great submission for you this week. Well done.
Never have I wanted to see a habbo room recreated irl as much as I want this room to be a place I live in. You’ve shown us an utmost unique take on this week's task mostly in subtle design and combination choices. I am a huge fan and extremely happy you’ve found yourself and are doing so well in this comp.

There are so many redeeming qualities to the overall concept you toyed with this week. The contrasting colour scheme between the two sides of the build are fascinating and paired well. The layering and combination of items displayed in the roof are intriguing and work with the aesthetic of the design. Perhaps a bit one-dimensional in terms of the shape of the room. Had you played with a more elevated shape, this would've fared a lot better in your ranking for this week. By no means is this a bad design, it just needs a little more elevation and attention to detail. Keep it up!
If we were to make tasks purely constructed for the benefit of the players, the urban street one was basically yours to take. That being said, I believe you didn’t fully take advantage of it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the weirdness and the textures of the building on the left and the way the room is laid down compositionally. It also lacks completion in my opinion. I needed something more, maybe more spatial layerings and compositional movement in it. It just feels stiff and boxy and overall lacks appeal.
Congratulations Deactivate! on your first task win! You've climbed the ladder in this competition and shocked us with a superb rendition of this weeks task. Your fine detailing and story-telling worked in your favour. Fantastic. We say goodbye to Queenension who is one of the most humble builders to have taken part in our competition. Each week she showed us her personality through her building techniques. We loved having you in this competition and we can't wait to see how you progress as a builder going forward. We're happy to call you a friend. Thanks for all you've accomplished! Thanks builders!
